At the Department of Fine Arts & Design in Salzburg, students develop an artistic and creative voice through the study of craft, design, art and material culture. Students will analyse the concepts of image, object, space and media, with theory and pedagogy courses rounding off their teacher training in either Visual Arts or Design: Technology.Textiles. Graduates are qualified to teach in schools or extra-curricular settings.

Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts 2026 (german page)

The Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts, worth €10,000, is provided by Wiener Städtischer Versicherungsverein. The award is intended to support emerging talent among students at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Art and Design Linz, the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the University of Art and Design Graz.
