Christel Kiesel De Miranda

Christel Kiesel is a University Assistant in the Department of Fine Arts & Design at Mozarteum University Salzburg. A sculptor by training, she studied industrial design, ceramics and glass, and fashion design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle before continuing her studies in sculpture and ceramics at the University of Arts Linz. Since 2020, she has co-run EFES 42, a studio and exhibition space in Linz dedicated to sculpture. Her artistic practice explores processes of transformation in post-industrial landscapes, with a particular focus on the former lignite mining region of Lusatia.
