Erwin-Georg Neubacher

Erwin Neubacher has played a key role in the development of Design: Technology.Textiles education in Austria for over two decades. Alongside his teaching at Mozarteum University Salzburg, he is active as a lecturer, reviewer, conference organiser and author, contributing to professional discourse and the continuing development of the discipline.

Erwin Neubacher studied to become a teacher of Visual Arts and Design:Technology at Mozarteum University Salzburg and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Since completing his teacher training, he has taught Design:Technology.Textiles at secondary level in Salzburg.

Since 1998, he has taught the didactics of Design:Technology.Textiles (focus on technology) at the Department of Fine Arts & Design at Mozarteum University Salzburg. Between 2001 and 2009, he was responsible for the supervision of trainee teachers in Design:Technology in Salzburg, and from 2013 to 2014 he also taught subject didactics in the joint teacher education programme at the Salzburg University of Education.

Since 2008, Neubacher has been involved in the development and coordination of the subject Design–Architecture–Technology, a specialist discipline taught only at the WRG Salzburg. He is also a co-founder of the Architecture–Technology and School association, the Austrian Society for Didactics, and the Federal Working Group for Design:Technology.Textiles within the Austrian Ministry of Education.
