Ramón Reichert

Ramón Reichert's research examines the relationship between digital media, technological change and social transformation. His work brings together media history, critical media theory, media aesthetics and the cultural study of digital societies.

Ramón Reichert was Professor of New Media at the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna from 2009 to 2013. He initiated the international research network Social Media Studies in 2012 and has served as lead editor and editor-in-chief of the international journal Digital Culture & Society since 2014.

At Mozarteum University Salzburg, he teaches media theory within the teacher education programmes for Design.Textiles and Visual Arts. His teaching and research encompass the history and theory of digital media, digital cultures, media aesthetics, critical media theory and the cultural history of film.
