Jacqueline Zauner is a university assistant in the area of teaching methodology for Design and Technology at the Mozarteum University. She was appointed to her current position in the winter semester of 2025, having previously worked as a lecturer in the same department since 2020.

Her current research, as she works on her PhD thesis – titled “Digital Fashion Bodies Between the Conflicting Priorities of Media-Technological Innovations: Crossover Effects on Adolescent Online and Offline Fashion Bodies” – explores the interplay between body, fashion and technology. She focuses on technical and media phenomena and how they influence the gender (identity) of adolescent fashion bodies. Her critically reflective research is based upon dialogue and participatory exchange with young people, which also contributes significantly to a greater understanding of the school subject Design and Technology.

Alongside her research activities, she teaches the school subjects Art, and Design & Technology at Pichelmayergasse Grammar School in Vienna, which enables her to bring together scholarly research and the everyday reality of teaching in schools.

She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, completing a teaching degree in the subjects Fashion & Styles and Art & Communication, as well as studies in Fine Arts.
