Deploy To Environment

This tutorial explains how to package and deploy a Multics R project to a provided immersive environment, specifically using the xReality Lab in Salzburg as an example. It walks through the structure of the deploy folder, the role of Switchboard and nDisplay configuration files, and how the project.json file determines which environment configuration is launched. The video also demonstrates how to prepare the final deployment package by building into the correct folder, zipping the deploy directory, and sending it to the environment provider for upload into the content management system.

Topics covered:

  • Building a Multics R project into the correct deploy/build directory
  • Understanding the structure of the deploy folder
  • Using the Switchboard folder and exported nDisplay configuration files
  • Linking Unreal Engine nDisplay config assets to external config files
  • Understanding the purpose of the project.json deployment file
  • Defining startup maps and nDisplay configurations for different environments
  • Supporting multiple immersive environments (e.g. xReality Lab, Deep Space)
  • Packaging the deployment folder into a distributable ZIP archive
  • Sending deployment builds to immersive environment providers
