    Singer-songwriter/band competition organised by Austria’s nine universities and colleges of music: While Europe’s attention is focused on the Eurovision Song Contest, Austria’s universities and colleges of music are turning their attention to the up-and-coming artists who will shape the music of tomorrow: On 15 May 2026, the campus of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna will become the stage for the most promising up-and-coming acts on the Austrian popular music scene. Representing the Mozarteum University will be Daniel Wisiol and the Mozquitos.

    European Symphony: Composition Competition for Europe’s First Remote Orchestra 

    Making music together remotely—in real time, across an entire continent: this exciting EU-funded initiative to create a “European Symphony” aims to bring digital technology and classical music together in new ways. Musicians in 12 different locations will use innovative technology to overcome physical distances and perform a joint concert for symphony orchestra and large chorus. Compositions can be submitted until 31 July 2026. The Mozarteum University is also taking part.
