    When Salzburg resounds with the spirit of genius loci in February, the Mozarteum University once again invites you to the International Mozart Competition. Now in its 70th year, this renowned competition will once again bring together outstanding young musicians from all over the world in 2026: 24 violinists from 17 countries and 25 pianists from 15 countries will compete at the highest international level.

    Start-up grants 2026 

    The start-up grants awarded by the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS) recognise and support the work of professional artists at the beginning of their careers. They are intended to enable work on new projects, promote artistic development and facilitate entry into the Austrian and international arts scene.
