Students of the 7A class of the BORG-Nonntal will create a music-theatrical performance of the improvisational-experimental score Individuum↔Collectivum (1979) by the composer Vinko Globokar. How can experimental-improvisational artistic interactions be described as aesthetic and social phenomena? Which methods prove to be particularly suitable for this purpose and what conclusions can be drawn in order to specifically promote aesthetic competences in music lessons?

Co-CreART is a four-year project of the Mozarteum University Salzburg, which is funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and was honoured with the Sustainability Award in Gold in November 2024.

Starting on December 7, the Department of Opera & Music Theater, together with the voice classes and students of Claudia Lehmann, will bring Engelbert Humperdinck's fairy tale play "Hansel and Gretel" to the stage of the Max Schlereth Hall at the Mozarteum University. The first winners of the 15th International Mozart Competition have been announced. The 1st prize in the string quartet category and the traditional special prize of the Mozarteum Foundation for the best interpretation of a string quartet by W. A. Mozart go to the Arete Quartet, the 2nd prize to the Affinity Quartet and the 3rd prize to the Eden Quartet.

The performance of Vincenzo Bellini's opera I Capuleti e i Montecchi delivered a powerful reinterpretation of the masterpiece. Directed by Alexander von Pfeil, the production centred on the relentless feud between two rival clans and the profound despair of its victims. This staging transcended specific eras, placing the story in a universal, timeless setting that brought Bellini's dark vision of love and war to the stage with harrowing clarity.

Even in a hyper-eroticized society, hardly any topic is as polarizing as sex work. Whether in feminist debates, political disputes or in private conversations: everyone has an opinion about it. In Johanna Mayrhofer's master's project, sex work as a topic that has always been on the borders of our society is moved from the outskirts to the center of Salzburg in the form of an interactive audio walk.

On October 13 and 14, 2022, the largest exhibition to date of the interdisciplinary and interinstitutional project Spot On MozART took place at the Mozarteum University - an exciting journey through 17 projects, including film premieres, interactive spaces, and a piano-playing industrial robot. At the Department of Fine Arts & Design, students develop artistic and design positions on foundations in craft, design, art and material culture. The examination of image, object, space and media, theory and didactics prepares students for teaching in schools and extracurricular settings.

How do we change perspectives when things and people become strangers to us? The performance OUBLIEZ - WHO(N) WE FORGET focuses on the 'in-between spaces' where communication takes place - between those affected, care staff and relatives - and tries to capture what happens to people who "disappear without being lost".

The study aims to better understand the collaboration of music teachers and instrumental / vocal teachers in class musicianship concepts in Austria.
