Ö1 Talent Exchange: Composition Prize 2025
The Ö1 Talent Exchange Composition Prize, conferred by Ö1 and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB), carries a prize sum of €10,000 and will be awarded for the eleventh time in 2026. The winner will be commissioned to compose a new chamber work, which may include electronic elements.

This Ö1 Prize is intended to support young composers who are studying at one of the following five Austrian music universities: University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna, Anton Bruckner Private University, Mozarteum University Salzburg, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
The central aim of this Ö1 funding initiative is to ensure lasting support for early-career artists. The basic idea is to enable an outstanding young composer from one of the five Austrian music universities listed above to create a new work, première it and achieve a broad media presence. The winner will be selected by an independent jury of experts.
Prize money
The prize money of €10,000 for the Ö1 Talentebörse Composition Prize 2026, donated by the OeNB, will be paid out as follows:
After a winner has been publicly announced, an initial payment of €5,000 will be made. The remaining €5,000 will be transferred upon delivery of the completed composition.
