Numerous master classes, a contemporary BaroqueLab, concerts and an opera production: The Baroque Summer Academy of the Department of Early Music of the Mozarteum University will take place for the third time in 2023 within the framework of the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. A highlight in 2023 is the performance of the baroque opera "Dido & Aeneas" by H. Purcell with contemporary prologue and epilogue "Elissa" by Henry Fourès and Rector Elisabeth Gutjahr. "Elissa" was successfully premiered at the Mozarteum University in June 2023.

Every year, the Mozarteum University honours students majoring in violin who have shown particular talent and achievement with the Paul Roczek Award, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. The winner of the Paul Roczek Award 2023 is Andreas Siles-Mellinger.

The British businessman, musician and philanthropist Sir Ian Stoutzker made a lifelong commitment to young musicians out of a deep conviction that music is an important factor in everyone's life. He died on 6 April 2024 at the age of 95.

Florentine Klepper has been Professor of Music Drama (scenic) at the Department of Opera & Music Theatre since the summer semester 2024. In the interview, she provides insights into her working methods, previous and ongoing projects and shares her thoughts on the various facets of music theatre.

On 3rd and 17th December 2025, two workshops took place: ‘Unter dem Pflaster liegt der Strand’ (Under the pavement lies the beach) with Stephanie Müller and Klaus Erika Dietl (Mediendienst, Leistungshölle, Munich) and ‘WALDWERDEN’ (Becoming Forest) with Theresa Schütz (Vienna). Third year students from Bundesgymnasium Seekirchen and Lebenshilfe were invited to creatively explore the topic of urban mobility.

A Year of Vibrant Musical Activity – Spotlight on the June 16 Concert in Vienna: The 2024/2025 academic year has been exceptionally dynamic for the guitar department at Mozarteum University Salzburg. Guitar students have taken part in a wide range of artistic and educational activities, reflecting the department’s vitality and high artistic standards. Among the most notable events is the upcoming concert on June 16, 2025, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, titled: “Vienna and Italy in Dialogue: The Guitar as a Bridge Between Two Traditions.”
