Pianist, répétiteur, and singer Katrin Lehismets has built an international career spanning opera houses, festivals, and concert stages across Europe and beyond. Alongside her performing work, she is active as a vocal coach and répétiteur for opera productions and young artists.

Katrin Lehismets received her first piano lessons at the age of five and went on to study piano and voice at the Estonian Academy of Music, the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, and Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she graduated with distinction. She has won prizes at various competitions in Estonia and has received multiple grants from the Estonian Cultural Foundation.

For four years, she was a member of a political cabaret group at the Tallinn City Theatre in Estonia, where she collaborated with actors and directors, performed at venues throughout Estonia and on international tours, and made numerous television and radio appearances.

As a répétiteur, she has worked at the Salzburg Festival, the Estonian Academy of Music, the private studio of Kammersängerin Grace Bumbry, the International Summer Academy Mozarteum, the Salzburg State Theatre (where she also took on leading musical responsibilities), the State Theatre of Lower Bavaria, Theater an der Rott, Schlote Productions, and the Eva Lind Academy in Tyrol. As a vocal coach at Musiktheater Bavaria, she coached American students and led her own opera class.

She made her debut as an opera singer as Zerlina at the Estates Theatre in Prague and was subsequently engaged at the Prague State Opera, the opera houses in Cairo and Alexandria, and the Landestheater Niederbayern. For five years she was a member of the Aspekte New Music Ensemble in Salzburg and participated in numerous ORF recordings and many world premieres.

She has been invited to perform at numerous international festivals, including the Prague Spring Festival, the Estonian Opera Festival (Kuressaare Ooperipäevad), the Festival Internazionale di Musica Antica e Contemporanea in Turin, Trieste Prima, the Mezinárodní hudební festival Brno, Solothurn Classics, the International Music Festival Santanyí, and repeatedly at Aspekte Salzburg. Her extensive performance career has taken her throughout Europe as well as to the Philippines, Egypt, the United States, and Canada.

Katrin Lehismets has enjoyed long-standing collaborations with the Estonian theatre Varius and with Theater Offensive in Salzburg. She is a member of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians.
