Katrin Lehismets received her first piano lessons at the age of five, she studied piano and singing at the Estonian Academy of Music, at the Hanns Eisler University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and at the Mozarteum University, where she graduated with distinction. She has won prizes at various competitions in Estonia and has received multiple grants from the Estonian Cultural Foundation. She was a member of a political cabaret group in Estonia at the Tallinn City Theater for four years, where she collaborated with actors and directors, made many appearances on all stages in Estonia and on foreign tours, and had many television and radio appearances.  As a répétiteur she worked at the Salzburg Festival, at the Estonian Music Academy, in the private studio of KS Grace Bumbry, at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, at the Salzburg State Theater, where she also took on leading musical tasks, at the State Theater of Lower Bavaria, at the Theater an der Rott , at Schlote Productions and at the Eva Lind Academy in Tyrol. As a vocal coach at the Musiktheater Bavaria, she coached American students and had her own opera class. She made her debut as an opera singer as Zerlina in the Estates Theater in Prague and was then engaged at the Prague State Opera, at the opera houses in Cairo and Alexandria and at the Landestheater Niederbayern. She was a member of the "Aspekte New Music Ensemble" in Salzburg for five years and took part in numerous ORF recordings and many world premieres.  Invitations have repeatedly led her to international festivals: Prague Spring, Estonian Opera Festival (Kuressaare Ooperipäevad), Festival Internazionale di Musica Antica e Contemporanea Torino, Trieste Prima, Mezinarodni hudebni festival Brno, Solothurn Classics, International Music Festival Santanyí, several times to Aspects Salzburg. Her extensive concert activities have taken her throughout Europe, as well as to the Philippines, Egypt, the USA and Canada. Years of cooperation with the Estonian theater "Varius" and with the Theater Offensive in Salzburg. Katrin Lehismets is a member of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians.
