On July 16, this year's edition of the top-class French-Austrian Academy of Composition came to a successful close in Marseille with four concerts. For the first time, the prize winners of the International Mozart Competition were invited to Marseille and performed in the concerts.

The KinderUNI Salzburg returns this year during the summer holidays and is organised by the PLUS together with the University Mozarteum Salzburg for 8 to 12 year olds under the motto "Marveling together" various formats.

Federal Minister for Education, Science and Research Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Polaschek was a guest at the Mozarteum University on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 and congratulated students on their various engagements at the Salzburg Festival. In a conversation lasting just under an hour, the students told how their engagements came about and why the Salzburg Festival can be an important stage for the future.

Sarah Nemtsov, renowned composer and university professor of composition at the Mozarteum University, will receive the Heidelberger Künstlerinnenpreis 2025 for her outstanding contributions to contemporary music. The prize, which has been endowed with 10,000 euros since 2025, is one of the most important cultural prizes in Germany and is the only prize in the world to be awarded exclusively to female composers.

With the project "With Dylan On The Road" the Mozarteum University together with The International Society of Mozarteum University Salzburg offers students the unique opportunity to go on a journey with a scholarship in their luggage to develop art projects inspired by Bob Dylan.

On November 3, the highly endowed Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts was awarded at the Leopold Museum. The audience award of Ö1 listeners went to Angelika Wienerroither, who studies photography and painting at the Department of Fine Arts and Design. She wins a free participation in the "Artist Statement" at Parallel Vienna 2023.

The Mozarteum University mourns the loss of an extraordinary educator, artist and colleague who was known for his discipline and openness, contributed much to the institution and remained connected to the university as a curious spirit even years after his retirement.

Alek Niemiro, a graduate of the Thomas Bernhard Institute's directing programme, has been awarded the new Austrian Art Alumni Award for his project ‘Last Hour of Resistance’. Starting this year, the award will be presented annually by the BMFWF and Austrian art universities to selected outstanding graduates, and comes with a twelve-month scholarship worth €24,000. The ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) was founded in 1994 and is currently made up of over 80 universities in around 20 countries.
