Inspired by the polyartist Bob Dylan and his approaches of appropriation and transformation, nine artistic-explorative teams of two from the Mozarteum University were on the road in South Africa, the US, Mexico, Europe and Latin America during the first half of 2022. The results are nine art projects that will be premiered on October 14 and 15 as part of Jazz & The City, accompanied by a symposium "Inspired by ... commemorating 60 Years of Bob Dylan.".

Approximately 800 of the 1800 Mozarteum students receive pedagogical training. Accordingly, synergies between the departments involved are important, as they were created in 2012 by the School of Music and Arts Education (SOMA).

On April 4 and 5, 2024, the 24th "Music Didactics Austria" conference took place at Frohnburg Castle of the Mozarteum University in cooperation with the Salzburg Education Directorate and the Salzburg University of Teacher Education. After an opening by Vice-Rector Mario Kostal and Daniela Gutschi, State Councillor for Education, a video message from Vice-Rector Matteo Carmignola of the Salzburg University of Teacher Education and a keynote speech by Martina Müller (BMBWF), the conference focused on the future of music education.

The presentation concert of the scholarship holders of the newly created ensemble scholarship A (one-year) Start Up for Ensemble(s) took place in the impressive ambience of Schloss Leopoldskron at the beginning of April. After the successful first edition of "With Dylan on the Road", a competitive travel scholarship program of the Mozarteum University, the project inspired by the polyartist Bob Dylan is entering the next round.

Creative approaches to sustainable mobility and new spaces in the city: On 7 November 2025, a workshop was held at the newly opened "House of Talents" that focused on innovative mobility solutions for the city of Salzburg. Taking Salzburg's Red Cross car park as an example, participants devised plans which took in to consideration space allocation, safety, climate protection and inclusion.

Where art and design meet education: the Department of Fine Arts & Design at the Mozarteum University Salzburg offers students an inspiring environment in which artistic and design practice, theory and teaching are combined. During an Advent service held by the University Parish/KHG at the Kollegienkirche, the members of the Mozarteum uniChor, conducted by Jörn Andresen, not only provided musical reflection but sent a powerful message of solidarity: a total of €1,453 was raised for the AAI Relief Fund for international students in need. The amount was officially handed over to the Afro-Asian Institute (AAI) Salzburg on 10th March 2026.

After a break due to corona, the Department of Fine Arts and Design is finally opening its workshops and studios again: from April 6 to 8, interested parties will have the opportunity to gain insights into the diverse work of young artists and to try their hand at numerous workshops. Concerts and performances round off the program. The Tour 2022 will be accompanied by a charity art sale for Ukraine.
