Inspired by the polyartist Bob Dylan and his approaches of appropriation and transformation, nine artistic-explorative teams of two from the Mozarteum University were on the road in South Africa, the US, Mexico, Europe and Latin America in the first half of 2022. The results are nine art projects that will be premiered on October 14 and 15 as part of Jazz & The City. Accompanied by a symposium "Inspired by ... commemorating 60 Years of Bob Dylan "

Driven by the idea that studying music and art can also take place on the road, the Mozarteum University offered students of all majors the opportunity to apply for a traveling scholarship fully funded by The International Society of Mozarteum University Salzburg. Eugen Banauch, initiator of the initiative "With Dylan on the Road": " All nine art projects have developed in the moment of being on the road: interdisciplinary, collaborative - and inspired by the working method of traveling artist Bob Dylan. " The projects from the fields of music, film, installation, performance, theater and visual arts were developed in spring and summer, on the road on four continents. "It is a project, which goes from the outset beyond classical university forms - in the direction of a new, innovative way to understand study: study on the road ", so Thomas Ballhausen from the project management team. The resulting artistic works will now be premiered as part of Jazz & The City in the Toihaus, the Künstlerhaus, the Traklhaus, the Academy Salon, the Kollegienkirche, the DomQuartier and the Zwergelgartenpavillon and in open-air places in Salzburg's old town. "In the spirit of Dylan's Bringing it all back home, Salzburg will thus become the point of oscillation of all these art projects for a weekend," says Eugen Banauch. The project performances will be accompanied and introduced by a symposium "Inspired by ... commemorating 60 Years of Bob Dylan " - the 60th anniversary of Dylan's first album, released in 1962. With lectures by Eugen Banauch, Ernest Suarez and Paul Keckeis, a reading by Stefan Kutzenberger, a round table, musical contributions and a music talk with Ingo Petz and Lavon Volski, the author of the famous Belarusian protest song "Three Turtles".
