Univ.-Prof. of Horn

Anastasiia Larina receives scholarship from the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA). She comes from Kherson/Ukraine and has been studying the MA Applied Theater - Critical Theater Practice and Community at the Thomas Bernhard Institute of the Mozarteum University since 2023.

Mental health issues, loneliness and an ageing population present Europe with major social challenges. At the same time, numerous studies show that art and culture can enhance mental wellbeing, foster social cohesion and increase the resilience of communities. The commissioning of a "European Symphony" marks the start of a wide-ranging research project that combines digital technology and classical music in a new way: Musicians in 12 different locations will use innovative technology to overcome physical distances and perform a joint concert for symphony orchestra and large chorus. The Mozarteum University is also contributing to the project, in the form of a choir.

Mariia Tkachenko lived in Kyiv until March 2022, where she received singing and violin lessons as a child and has already appeared in several TV productions. Her acting studies at the I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television were interrupted by the war in Ukraine.
