    Singing brings people together – even online. In the ERASMUS+ research project ‘Choir@Home’, the Mozarteum University Salzburg (Prof. Dr. Heike Henning), in collaboration with the University of Liechtenstein (Dr. Janine Hacker) and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Prof. Dr. Alexander Carôt), investigated how singing together can take place in virtual spaces and be reimagined.

    Austrian Art Alumni Award 
    In order to ensure that Austria maintains its position in the world of art and culture, selected outstanding graduates of arts universities are supported in the early stages of their artistic careers. To this end, the public arts universities, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, have launched the A4 – Austrian Art Alumni Award programme: each year, six graduates of Austrian arts universities are awarded a grant in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.

    Mozarteum International Guitar Festival — An extraordinary debut 
    The Mozarteum International Guitar Festival, which took place 9th-11th November, proved an extraordinary three-day celebration of the guitar, drawing nearly 800 listeners to afternoon and evening concerts. The event drew participants from far and wide, with 30 students making the journey from across Europe, Asia and the USA, while ten luthiers - from Brazil and several European countries - presented their instruments.

    The Applied Theatre project digs for stories hidden in the Rainberg. By overlaying the different uses in different periods of time, contrasts but also commonalities become visible: "Dance until we die" examines how temporary communities function, according to which criteria they are created, which rules they are subject to.

    Awards for excellent master theses 2020/2021 Since the academic year 2016/2017, the Mozarteum University has been awarding the "Prize for excellent master theses". This award recognizes outstanding theses of graduates who dedicate themselves to their chosen topics in an innovative, original, unusual or particularly sustainable way. The winners of the excellent master theses 2020/2021 are: Caroline Fritz (MA IGP Guitar - Classical): "Slavko Avsenik und seine Original Oberkrainer: Untersuchung von Herkunft und Einflüsse mit der Analyse ausgewählter Beispiele" (scientific work, supervisor: Franz Zaunschirm) Pavle Krstic (MA Piano Soloist Training - Concert): "Analyse als Mittel der Interpretation der Préludes op.28 von Chopin" (scientific work, supervisor: Barbara Dobretsberger) We congratulate you!
