    Pandora Part I - Her of Tomorrow is an intergenerational dance and music project developed together with the community of the Volksschule Aigen, the Orchesterprojekt Salzburg, the Orff-Institut and freelance artists*. Pandora Part II - Artificial Cataclysm is a dance theater piece that portrays single individuals and connects them through a series of tragedies.

    Oscar Jockel wins the competition for the assistant position with the Berliner Philharmoniker 
    Oscar Jockel, a master's student in orchestral conducting at the Mozarteum University, has won first prize in the competition for the assistant conducting position with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Jockel will serve as assistant conductor to the Berliner Philharmoniker and principal conductor Kyrill Petrenko for one year beginning in the fall of 2022. In addition, he will spend two years as an academician at the Karajan Academy and present his own portrait concert.

    Ion MArin - holder of the Claudio Abbado Endowed Professorship 
    For the winter semester 2020/2021, Maestro Ion Marin has been appointed to the Claudio Abbado Endowed Professorship, endowed by the Hans Gröber Foundation Vaduz. In addition to his work as Professor of Orchestral Conducting, he will assume the artistic direction of the Symphony Orchestra of the University Mozarteum Salzburg.

    Honorary professorship awarded to Maria Kalesnikava 
    Since the beginning of the year, the project "Practicing Care" has been focusing on the transnational social responsibility of a university of the arts with a variety of activities. Exemplary for these activities is the awarding of an honorary professorship by the Senate of the Mozarteum University to the Belarusian flautist, pedagogue and civil rights activist Maria Kalesnikava, who was sentenced to 11 years of penal colony in her home country. Dorothee Oberlinger and Olga Shparaga, among others, will participate in the program of the ceremony on October 30.
