Last Saturday, after four intensive weeks under the artistic direction of Hannfried Lucke, the International Summer Academy 2024 came to a very successful end with 55 masterclasses, 13 additional courses and 66 concerts. 550 participants from 53 nations (average age 21) were guests in Salzburg. Twelve up-and-coming artists were honoured and each received 1,000 euros in prize money donated by the City of Salzburg's Cultural Fund.
On 2nd June 2025, the University Council of the Mozarteum University voted on the shortlist presented by the Senate and elected Univ.-Prof. Dr. Constanze Wimmer as the new Rector of the Mozarteum University Salzburg for the term 1st April 2026 – 31st March 2030.

For four intensive weeks, Salzburg once again became an international hub for talented young musicians. Around 500 participants from all over the world took part in the Mozarteum International Summer Academy, working across 50 masterclasses, Young Excellence classes and numerous other programmes under the artistic direction of Hannfried Lucke. Alongside the tuition, public concerts by teaching staff and matinees featuring the prize-winners ensured packed houses throughout.
The prestigious Herbert von Karajan Prize, worth a total of 50,000 euros, has been awarded for the 6th time this year as part of the Salzburg Easter Festival. The prize winner is, among others, the composer and conductor Oscar Jockel, who was featured in the celebrated production "Westbam meets Wagner".
