After a break due to corona, the Department of Fine Arts and Design is finally opening its workshops and studios again: from April 6 to 8, interested parties will have the opportunity to gain insights into the diverse work of young artists and to try their hand at numerous workshops. Concerts and performances round off the program. The Tour 2022 will be accompanied by a charity art sale for Ukraine.

The actor Augustin Groz, who has Austrian-French roots, studied acting at the Mozarteum University and then completed a Master of Fine Arts at The New School in New York. In 2023, he received the Max Ophüls Prize for best young actor in Özgür Anil's feature film "Wer wir einmal sein wollten", which can be seen in Austrian cinemas in May and June.

Wolfgang Richter studied German and History at the University of Salzburg and Art Education at the Mozarteum University. As an educator, he taught as an assistant at the Mozarteum University and at a Salzburg grammar school.

At the start of the 2026/27 winter semester, Mozarteum University welcomes nine internationally renowned artists and academics to its faculty. The new appointees bring expertise in a range of disciplines, from violin and piano to orchestral conducting and music theory, as well as the teaching of design & technology.

The annual festival of the Institute for New Music and the Studio for Electronic Music of the Mozarteum University promotes international cooperation between composers and students of contemporary music from different countries. LIMINA develops opportunities and networks for young musicians.

And the winner is... The university's internal Research Competition Mozarteum (RCM) took place for the 6th time in 2024 and has established itself as a fixed part of the university's annual schedule. On December 3, the best submissions were honored at the Award Ceremony with the involvement of the international RCM jury.

This staging transcended specific eras, placing the story in a universal, timeless setting that brought Bellini's dark vision of love and war to the stage with harrowing clarity.

The Concorso Ruggiero Ricci for violin and the Concorso Hindemith / Mainardi for viola and cello are held in annual rotation. The internal competitions are aimed at students of the Department of String & Plucked Instruments.
