With the Moz-Art-Zone, the Mozarteum University will offer an expanded music and art education program starting in the winter semester of 2022/23 with an interdisciplinary offering that aims to awaken enthusiasm and interest in students and opens the doors of the university wide for this purpose.

We are deeply saddened and concerned by the news that the imprisoned Belarusian musician and activist Maria Kalesnikava was transferred from her isolation cell in the penal camp to the intensive care unit of a hospital last Monday. Her family also has no information about her health condition so far and is not allowed to visit her. Our thoughts are with her and we wish her a speedy and full recovery.

The Mozarteum University once again cordially invites its alumni and emeriti to a drink followed by a visit to the opera! As usual, the meeting point is the foyer of the Mozarteum University in an artistic setting amidst the "allegria" exhibition by Gertrud Fischbacher and Marius Schebella. The opera programme includes a world premiere: "Elissa / Dido & Aeneas". Rector Elisabeth Gutjahr will warmly welcome you and provide insights into the production.

The second panel discussion of the Salzburg University Development Impulses in cooperation with the Knowledge Transfer Centre West attempted to shed light on the creative processes that precede the emergence of the new with experts from various disciplines and fields.

The Applied Theatre students are showing try-outs of their work in the module "On Representation - Who cares, who speaks?". Together with co-researchers, accomplices and so-called experts of everyday life, they try to find out which untold stories should be given a stage.

From 5th to 18th June, the archive presented an exhibition in the foyer of the Mozarteum University showing how women were responsible for bringing about turning points in the University's history. This was a collaborative project with the Institute for Gender Studies and Equality, the City of Knowledge Salzburg and the Association of Austrian Archivists.

How does one actually become an actor? How does an acting class work? The participants were able to try this out for themselves for a week at the #summercamp23 of the Thomas Bernhard Institute, when the university opened its doors wide and it was time for very different youngsters to get on stage, get into character, #act!

How can (body) boundaries be overcome and what has one's own body not yet learned? Ten students of the teacher training programme "Design: Technology.Textiles" are exploring these questions in an exhibition at the Bauhaus Museum Dessau.
