At the 17th International Beethoven Piano Competition, organised by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), pianist Martin Nöbauer won the 2nd prize worth a total of 12,000 euros (ex aequo with Jonas Stark) as well as the Klemens Kramert special prize worth 2,000 euros. The library's holdings are located in the reading room, the media library, the book depository, and the library's reading room in the Orff Institute. The works in the open access area in the reading room cannot be borrowed and can only be used on site, while the majority of the other media can be borrowed.
On 29 February, the Mozarteum University hosted a special meeting on the topic of "music teacher shortage" for the first time - numerous representatives of important musical institutions from Upper Austria, Salzburg and Upper Bavaria sat down together to discuss the current situation and develop sensible measures.
The four-year term of office for the new Rectorate of the Mozarteum University Salzburg begins on 1 April 2026. Music educator Constanze Wimmer will lead the institution. Together with her team – Hannfried Lucke, Karin Skarek, Helmut Schaumberger and Eugen Banauch – she aims to provide key impetus for the further development of the arts, teaching and research.
