Eight Austrian universities have made it into the top 50 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. The Mozarteum University reached 12th place in the Performing Arts category, ranking 9th in Europe and still second in the German-speaking world.

Since 2019, the Research Support of the University Mozarteum offers an annual award for artistic-scientific and scientific research projects. From 14 July to 9 August 2025, the Mozarteum University's traditional International Summer Academy will once again welcome young musical talents from all over the world: over 600 musicians from 54 countries can look forward to a wide range of 57 masterclasses in 13 subjects, Young Excellence classes and additional offers on health and professional qualification for musicians in four course periods. Every year, the Mozarteum University honours students majoring in violin who have shown particular talent and achievement with the Paul Roczek Award, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. The winner of the Paul Roczek Award 2023 is Andreas Siles-Mellinger.
