Kick-off for the Mozarteum International Summer Academy 2025

From 14 July to 9 August 2025, the Mozarteum University's traditional International Summer Academy will once again welcome young musical talents from all over the world: over 600 musicians from 54 countries can look forward to a wide range of 57 masterclasses in 13 subjects, Young Excellence classes and additional offers on health and professional qualification for musicians in four course periods. This year's highlight: a master class with Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli – the ‘only singing teacher Cecilia Bartoli ever had’.

From 4 to 8 August 2025, professional singers of all voice types will have the unique opportunity to work on ‘fundamental principles of vocal technique – the basis of a long singing career’ in a masterclass with Maestra Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli herself. Registrations are open until 20 July 2025. Like the other masterclasses, this masterclass is open to the general public. Audience tickets are available at summer.academy@moz.ac.at. Cecilia Bartoli will also be a guest.
New this year are lectures by neurologist Jürg Kesselring on the topic of ‘Music and the Brain’ and by Moritz Bergfeld, who will shed light on modern recording techniques and their significance for young artists in a practical presentation.
Numerous public concerts, including four lecturer concerts on Tuesdays and four matinees with concerts by the prize winners on Saturdays, round off the programme. The prizes for the best participants in each course period are donated by the Cultural Fund of the City of Salzburg. In addition, numerous scholarships for participants have been made possible by private sponsors and the generous support of the Lions Clubs Millennium Pongau and St. Johann.
At the invitation of the Schloss Höch Cultural Association, three guest performances will once again take place at Schloss Höch in Flachau, and for the second time, the Summer Academy will be a guest at the Mirabell retirement home.
