News … Home News Singing in Music Education (SiME) Singing in Music Education (SiME) 01.10.2020 Researchproject SiME (Singing in Music Education) is a Special Focus Group of EAS (European Association forMusic in schools) and was founded in 2017 by Helmut Schaumberger at the EAS conference in Salzburg.

The Department of Music Education Innsbruck is the central training center for music teachers in Western Austria. The focus on music education, a very personal support and the home in the House of Music in the center of Innsbruck make the department an interface of scientific expertise and didactic know-how.

The focus is on openness and creativity in dealing with diverse forms of musical expression, research, the development of new media forms of mediation, as well as cooperation with cultural institutions in the Salzburg area and the promotion of international exchange.

On April 4 and 5, 2024, the 24th "Music Didactics Austria" conference took place at Frohnburg Castle of the Mozarteum University in cooperation with the Salzburg Education Directorate and the Salzburg University of Teacher Education. After an opening by Vice-Rector Mario Kostal and Daniela Gutschi, State Councillor for Education, a video message from Vice-Rector Matteo Carmignola of the Salzburg University of Teacher Education and a keynote speech by Martina Müller (BMBWF), the conference focused on the future of music education.
