The University Mozarteum lives a culture of sustainability and is guided by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

And the winner is... The university's internal Research Competition Mozarteum (RCM) took place for the 6th time in 2024 and has established itself as a fixed part of the university's annual schedule. On December 3, the best submissions were honored at the Award Ceremony with the involvement of the international RCM jury.

The Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts, worth €10,000, is provided by Wiener Städtischer Versicherungsverein. The award is intended to support emerging talent among students at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Art and Design Linz, the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the University of Art and Design Graz.

Vincenzo Bellini's highly romantic bel canto opera I Capuleti e i Montecchi celebrates its premiere in the Max Schlereth Saal on 10 December under the direction of Alexander von Pfeil and musical direction of Gernot Sahler. With the new building of the Mozarteum University at the Kurgarten (UMAK), the city of Salzburg, the cultural area around the Mirabell Gardens and the Paracelsus Baths get a new player and neighbor. The annual conference of the Austrian Society for Musicology will take place at the Mozarteum University from 17-19 October 2024. It will focus on and discuss music-related phenomena that are related to ideas of democracy and democratic principles.
