Bella Musica - Young Ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways
News … Home News Bella Musica - Young Ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways Bella Musica - Young Ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways 30.08.2021 News © Fabian Schober A success story continues:  "Young musicians are once again following in Mozart's footsteps and thus contributing to the preservation of this unique cultural heritage. I wish the Bella Musica - Ensemble Giovanile Europea of the University Mozarteum Salzburg a great concert tour for this year's anniversary and many unforgettable musical moments," says Deputy Provincial Dr. Heinrich Schellhorn about this year's event. Bella Musica - orchestra project of the Pre-College Vice Rector Dr. Mario Kostal of the Mozarteum University also congratulates the successful project, which "introduces young people to Mozart's music as well as to his life, work and travels. The project aims at the core of our university's mission statement: Europe's cultural heritage forms our foundation and mission, in which we live internationality, cosmopolitanism and tolerance in constant dialogue. I wish all participants a successful jubilee journey in the footsteps of Mozart."  The orchestra brings together young students from Austria, Italy and Germany, who rehearse chamber music and orchestral works together and present them at concerts in Austria and abroad. The young ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways spread the awareness of a common European cultural heritage through art, through Mozart's music. They themselves live and experience this through their work. in 2021, the orchestra will embark on its tenth concert tour to Italy to act as ambassadors in the footsteps of W.A. Mozart. Until September 5, Bella Musica will tour the Italian regions of CAMPANIA (Napoli, Portici - Napoli, Positano), TOSCANA (San Quirico d'Orcia - Siena), EMILIA-ROMAGNA (Piacenza) and TRENTINO-ALTO ADIGE (Rovereto) as a reduced ensemble due to the pandemic. The European Mozart Routes are the only cultural route of the Council of Europe that places a musician at the center of its activities. The main objective is to revitalize the tourist routes, to promote artistic, cultural and scientific collaborations and, above all, educational projects. The network was founded on the occasion of the 250th birthday of Wolfgang Amadé Mozart in 2006 on the initiative of Land Salzburg. Since 2014, outstanding youth choirs and orchestras that also have works by Wolfgang Amadé Mozart in their repertoire have been named "Young Ambassadors of the European Mozart Ways"; the Bella Musica - Ensemble Giovanile Europea has held this distinction since 2017. Bella Musica on tour again
News … Home News Bella Musica on tour again Bella Musica on tour again 24.08.2022 Press release © Universität Mozarteum The music project Bella Musica, a cooperation of the Mozarteum University with the University of Music Würzburg and the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, unites young Austrian, Italian and German music talents who rehearse chamber music and orchestral works in an annual orchestra camp in order to perform them in a concert tour on the European Mozart paths. They thus become ambassadors who raise awareness of a common European cultural heritage through the music of Mozart. Along the European Mozart Routes Rector Elisabeth Gutjahr emphasizes: "What particularly fascinates me about 'Bella Musica' is the enthusiasm with which young people are introduced to Mozart's music, his life, work and travels. This basic cultural and European project reflects the values of the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the best possible way. Our thanks go to all initiators, funding bodies and private supporters for their valuable contribution and commitment." This year's journey of the Bella Musica project is also dedicated to solidarity with Ukraine: Of the approximately 50 students that the Mozarteum University has accepted in recent months, some will also accompany Bella Musica on the Mozart Ways. This is intended as a further sign of peaceful coexistence in Europe. Franz Xaver Mozart, son of W. A. Mozart, who moved to Lemberg, today's Lviv, as a music teacher in 1808, builds a bridge to this. He was a successful pianist and music teacher there for many years. The highlight of the concert tour, which is planned from August 24 to September 4, 2022, will undoubtedly be the performance in Naples in the Great Hall of the Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella, in addition to concerts in the Mozart cities of Terni, Rome, Terracina, Caserta and Ala-Rovereto. In addition, the young musicians with their artistic director Stefan David Hummel are looking forward to a concert in the monastery Certosa di San Giacomo on the island of Capri, which was also planned by W. A. Mozart. The concerts in Caserta, Naples and Capri are organized as part of the "Festival Barocco Napoletano" together with the Siti Reali, a State Administration of Castles and Gardens, which manages all the Bourbon palaces in Campania and has already enabled the Bella Musica Ensemble Project to perform numerous times since 2019. The cooperation with the association and cultural network "European Mozart Ways" (EMW) exists since 2017 and connects cities, regions and institutions in those ten European countries that Mozart visited on his travels. Bella Musica was awarded the title of young ambassador orchestra of the European Mozart Ways by the province of Salzburg. In addition to the long-standing cooperation with the renowned "Conservatorio Santa Cecilia" in Rome, the Mozarteum University has concluded another Erasmus cooperation with the important music university "Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella" in Naples in June 2022, thus promoting the exchange of young artists*. You know who nobody wants to work with right now? With white old men. We've stepped out of comfort zones, questioned images of masculinity and dissected vulnerabilities, owned wide leather chairs, discussed talk shows, speech share, mansplaining, manspreading and clichés in them. And ... how do white old men actually smell? A collage-like scenic work about the attempt at a dialogue - Master's project from the Applied Theatre degree course.
