The first winners of the 15th International Mozart Competition have been announced. The 1st prize in the string quartet category and the traditional special prize of the Mozarteum Foundation for the best interpretation of a string quartet by W. A. Mozart go to the Arete Quartet, the 2nd prize to the Affinity Quartet and the 3rd prize to the Eden Quartet.

Independent scientific publications, peer-reviewed conference papers and teaching assignments at renowned institutions: Our students contribute significantly to representing the Mozarteum University in artistic-scientific research and pedagogy in music theory nationally and internationally. Applications for the October 2026 intake will be accepted starting in February. The Mozarteum University Salzburg is expanding its range of courses to include the international Master's programme in Immersive Arts & Digital Narratives. The English-language, artistically and scientifically oriented programme will start in 2026 and is aimed at artists and practitioners from all artistic and scientific disciplines who wish to explore narrative forms, artistic practice and new technologies.

In Johanna Mayrhofer's master's project, sex work as a topic that has always been on the borders of our society is moved from the outskirts to the center of Salzburg in the form of an interactive audio walk.

On October 13 and 14, 2022, the largest exhibition to date of the interdisciplinary and interinstitutional project Spot On MozART took place at the Mozarteum University - an exciting journey through 17 projects, including film premieres, interactive spaces, and a piano-playing industrial robot.
