The two-year Master's programme (4 semesters / 120 ECTS) combines immersive, interactive and cross-media approaches and sees itself as an innovative liberal arts programme at the interface of art, narration and technology. Students work in the specially equipped X-Reality Lab, which is unique in Austria and serves as a research and production space for immersive and interactive art formats and forms. The lab, equipped with state-of-the-art projection-based XR technology, was developed in cooperation with the Ars Electronica Futurelab, as was the open-source framework mozXR.

The curriculum focuses on experimental artistic research, technological competence, dramaturgy and storytelling. The aim is to realise projects that combine digital, performative, time-based, immersive and interactive methods. Collaborative working methods, theoretical reflection and the contextual positioning of one's own artistic practice are central components of the programme.

The Master's programme is open to applicants with a completed degree, relevant artistic practice, experience in working with technological methods and a keen interest in critically engaging with technological developments in the arts.
