‘Designing Voices for Our Lives’ - at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka! The Mozarteum University invites students to participate in a unique choir project that will culminate in a special concert on 23 May 2025 at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan.
The University Mozarteum will conclude the three major anniversaries of the Orff Year with an extensive festive weekend from July 2 to 4, 2021. The ceremony on Friday will focus on the possibilities opened up by inter- and transdisciplinary approaches in artistic, pedagogical and scientific contexts.

A new research project at the Department of Music Education Innsbruck deals with virtual rehearsals and music making in digital and virtual space, which require communication in real time. The project investigates the use of digital tools in the cultural field, especially to support choirs.
The four-year term of office for the new Rectorate of the Mozarteum University Salzburg begins on 1 April 2026. Music educator Constanze Wimmer will lead the institution. Together with her team – Hannfried Lucke, Karin Skarek, Helmut Schaumberger and Eugen Banauch – she aims to provide key impetus for the further development of the arts, teaching and research. As a publicly accessible art ARCHIVE space, the University Archive documents current and historical activities of the Mozarteum University and proactively supports teaching, access to the arts, and research.
The Mozarteum University makes its support of the principles of Open Science visible by signing the Berlin Declaration, the library provides the necessary infrastructure and the following services.

The Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts, worth €10,000, is provided by Wiener Städtischer Versicherungsverein. The award is intended to support emerging talent among students at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Art and Design Linz, the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the University of Art and Design Graz.
The first winners of the 15th International Mozart Competition have been announced. The 1st prize in the string quartet category and the traditional special prize of the Mozarteum Foundation for the best interpretation of a string quartet by W. A. Mozart go to the Arete Quartet, the 2nd prize to the Affinity Quartet and the 3rd prize to the Eden Quartet.
The Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts in the amount of 10,000 euros, provided by Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, is being offered by Ö1 for the 16th time this year. The prize serves to promote young talent among students at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Linz University of Art and the Mozarteum University.
