With an extensive festive weekend from July 2 to 4, the Mozarteum University concludes the three major anniversaries of the Orff Year. The ceremony on Friday will focus on the possibilities that inter- and transdisciplinary approaches open up in artistic, pedagogical and scientific contexts.
"Joyful is the time" (from "Carmina Burana") is the motto to celebrate the anniversaries of 125 years of Carl Orff, 100 years of Wilhelm Keller and 60 years of the Orff Institute in 2021. The first event will be the festive TEMPUS EST IOCUNDUM on July 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Solitär of the Mozarteum University with greetings from Rector Prof. Elisabeth Gutjahr and a panel discussion as well as artistic contributions by students and teachers of the Orff Institute. Encounters between the arts and the related questions of initiating developmental and learning processes are central to elementary music and dance education. What potentials do inter- and transdisciplinary approaches offer in artistic, pedagogical and scientific contexts? In the panel discussion, these topics will be discussed with experts for whom the interlocking of several disciplines is lived practice. Based on concrete projects, the guests will also reflect on their references to Carl Orff, Wilhelm Keller, and elementary music and dance pedagogy, and sound out impulses for vital further developments. the panelists are:
Prof.in Dr.in Regina Pauls, former professor at the Orff Institute and head of the accompanying scientific research at the Mozarteum University Prof. DDDr. Wolfgang Mastnak, professor of music education and music therapy at the Munich University of Music and Theatre Antje Tesche-Mentzen, painter and sculptor Mario Schröder, dancer, choreographer and director of the Leipzig Ballet at the Leipzig Opera Moderation:
Univ.-Prof.in Dr.in Anna Maria Kalcher
Univ.-Prof.in MMag.a Anna Töller   As a supporting program, during the ceremony and until August 30, 2021, the exhibition Carl Orff - Humanist against the tide of time can be visited in the foyer of the Mozarteum University. Conceived by the Orff Center Munich (State Institute for Research and Documentation), the exhibition will feature all of Carl Orff's stage works and the "Schulwerk" with pictures and meaningful original quotations. On July 3 and 4, the symposium Art Meets Pedagogy (all day) will also offer the opportunity to attend a variety of lectures on the work of Carl Orff and Wilhelm Keller and to explore the dimensions of the intertwining of the arts and pedagogy in elementary music and dance education. The symposium will also feature workshops, performances and concerts for all ages.   Program of the festive weekend CARL ORFF 125+ | WILHELM KELLER 100+ | ORFF INSTITUT 60 Festive act "Tempus est iocundum" Friday, July 2, 2021, 7:30 pm Solitär, Mirabellplatz 1   Symposium "Art meets Pedagogy" Saturday, July 3.
