    A Triad of Talent 
    Following a successful masterclass and a sold-out concert with the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg in March 2025, Christian Thielemann will take up a position as Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Mozarteum University in October 2026. Violinist Lisa Batiashvili and pianist Claudio Martínez Mehner will also begin teaching in the 2026/27 academic year.

    Rector Constanze Wimmer takes up her post with a new team at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg 
    The four-year term of office for the new Rectorate of the Mozarteum University Salzburg begins on 1 April 2026. Music educator Constanze Wimmer will lead the institution. Together with her team – Hannfried Lucke, Karin Skarek, Helmut Schaumberger and Eugen Banauch – she aims to provide key impetus for the further development of the arts, teaching and research. A warm welcome to them all!

    The weekend around 1 May at the University was marked by an extraordinary musical bridge-building between Salzburg and Dresden: with a cappella singing and choral symphonies, "night" and "sea", word and sound, the Dresden University Choir and the choirs of the Mozarteum University combined to create a multi-layered, dazzling spectrum of sound.

    The Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Visual Arts, worth €10,000, is provided by Wiener Städtischer Versicherungsverein. The award is intended to support emerging talent among students at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Art and Design Linz, the Mozarteum University Salzburg and the University of Art and Design Graz.

    The library's holdings are located in the reading room, the media library, the book depository, and the library's reading room in the Orff Institute. The works in the open access area in the reading room cannot be borrowed and can only be used on site, while the majority of the other media can be borrowed.
