Maximilian Bauer

For 20 years Maximilian Bauer has been the choir director of the community of Birgitz and chairman of the Association of Friends of Music and Culture Birgitz. 1985-1992 he was a teacher at the Music School of the City of Innsbruck in the subjects clarinet and general music teaching and built up the Big Band of the Music School of the City of Innsbruck, which he also directed. Since 1991 he has taught clarinet as a main subject and didactics at the Tyrolean State Conservatory, and since 2001 he has been a lecturer for clarinet at the University Mozarteum in the Department of Music Education Innsbruck.
Maximilian Bauer studied at the music colleges in Graz, at the Mozarteum University in Innsbruck and at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in the subjects clarinet (teaching qualification and diploma with distinction in Graz) and singing (teaching qualification at the Tyrolean State Conservatory). He was a multiple prizewinner at Jugend musiziert and in 1983 received the honorary award from the Federal Ministry of Science and Research. From 1985 to 2006 he was a clarinetist in the Innsbruck Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral and teaching activities, he has played as a soloist and in chamber music with the Tyrolean Chamber Philharmonic, the Innsbruck Chamber Music Association, the Innsbruck Serenades Ensemble, the Innsbruck Wind Trio, the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck and the Thai National Orchestra in Bangkok, among others. From 2006 to 2009 he was artistic coordinator of the Department of Music Education in Innsbruck. In 2006 he habilitated in the artistic main subject clarinet. Since the beginning of the cooperation between the Tyrolean State Conservatory and the Mozarteum University in 2006, cooperation officer of the Tyrolean State Conservatory within the framework of the IGP studies.
