Marco Döttlinger

Marco Döttlinger is an Austrian composer and sound artist whose work explores the intersection of instrumental music, electronics and time-based media. A member of the ensemble NAMES – New Art and Music Ensemble Salzburg, his artistic practice focuses on the integration of computer-based processes into contemporary sound art.
Marco Döttlinger studied music theory, composition and computer music in Salzburg, Paris and Basel with Christian Ofenbauer, Frédéric Durieux and Georg Friedrich Haas, among others. He is a member of the ensemble NAMES – New Art and Music Ensemble Salzburg.
His instrumental works, computer music, electroacoustic compositions and sound installations often explore microtemporal processes at the threshold between stillness and movement. He has received numerous prizes and grants, including the State Scholarship for Composition from the Austrian Federal Ministry, the one-year music scholarship of the State of Salzburg, and the stART grant from the Austrian Federal Ministry. His works have been presented at festivals in Austria and internationally.
