Guido Marggrander

Guido Marggrander has been Professor of Percussion at Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2019, having joined the university as a lecturer in 2018. Alongside his teaching, he has been a member of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1997, following eight years as principal percussionist of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra (now the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie). Marggrander studied musicology and percussion with Hans-Jörg Bayer and Jürgen Heinrich at the Karlsruhe University of Music. From 2004 to 2019, he also taught percussion at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.
