Memorizing music plays an important role for instrumentalists and has been little researched to date. Elisabeth Eder took on this topic in her dissertation and was able to identify or categorize 100 learning strategies and show aspects that support memorization.

The four-year term of office for the new Rectorate of the Mozarteum University Salzburg begins on 1 April 2026. Music educator Constanze Wimmer will lead the institution. Together with her team – Hannfried Lucke, Karin Skarek, Helmut Schaumberger and Eugen Banauch – she aims to provide key impetus for the further development of the arts, teaching and research. On 23 June, the Opera Studies Department at the Mozarteum University Salzburg will celebrate the world premiere of Agamemnon (Musical Director: Gernot Sahler; Director: Alexander von Pfeil). The commissioned work was created by the young Slovenian composer Vid Ožbolt, who is currently studying composition with Sarah Nemtsov. The art and love of the viola led German Tcakulov from Vladikavkaz to St. Petersburg, on to Berlin, Munich, Karlsruhe and now to Salzburg, where he took up a professorship for viola on 1 October 2024.

Every year, the Mozarteum University welcomes around 1,000 young musicians from all over the world to the festival city of Salzburg and offers more than 80 master classes in composition, conducting, voice, piano, guitar and classical orchestral instruments, as well as an orchestra academy with outstanding teachers.

A semester abroad led her to the Accademia di Belle Arti Venice.
