Mobility for the future On 3rd and 17th December 2025, two workshops took place: ‘Unter dem Pflaster liegt der Strand’ (Under the pavement lies the beach) with Stephanie Müller and Klaus Erika Dietl (Mediendienst, Leistungshölle, Munich) and ‘WALDWERDEN’ (Becoming Forest) with Theresa Schütz (Vienna). With Baroque Summer Academy as guest in Siena Numerous master classes, a contemporary BaroqueLab, concerts and an opera production: The Baroque Summer Academy of the Department of Early Music of the Mozarteum University will take place for the third time in 2023 within the framework of the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. A highlight in 2023 is the performance of the baroque opera "Dido & Aeneas" by H. Purcell with contemporary prologue and epilogue "Elissa" by Henry Fourès and Rector Elisabeth Gutjahr. "Elissa" was successfully premiered at the Mozarteum University in June 2023.News -

Salzburg Cultural Fund Prize awarded to Yvonne Wasserloos Yvonne Wasserloos, university professor of musicology, has been awarded the International Grand Prize for Science & Research (worth €12,000) by the Cultural Fund of the City of Salzburg for her outstanding achievements as a researcher, including her work on ‘Music and Power – Dimension and Context’ and her research on the social, political and cultural significance of music – especially in connection with democracy and the culture of remembrance. A Triad of Talent Following a successful masterclass and a sold-out concert with the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg in March 2025, Christian Thielemann will take up a position as Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Mozarteum University in October 2026. Violinist Lisa Batiashvili and pianist Claudio Martínez Mehner will also begin teaching in the 2026/27 academic year.News -

He co-founded the Futurelab at Ars Electronica in Linz and was co-director of the Media Lab until he was appointed vice rector at JKU Linz in 2019.
