On 15 March 2023, the first event in a series of events organised by Salzburg's universities in cooperation with the Wissenstransferzentrum West (Knowledge Transfer Centre West) was dedicated to a hot topic: the impact of artificial intelligence on our everyday lives. The explosive nature of the topic and the fact that the discussion has arrived in the university context and in our society was demonstrated by the full Small Studio at the Mozarteum University.

We are proud to announce that, after two and a half years of construction work, the Mozarteum University’s newest building, located in Schwarzstraße 36, is now complete and officially open! This exciting new space, with a surface area of 1,895m2, is dedicated to teaching, rehearsing, research, advancement and appreciation of the arts, and digital arts.

Data whispers: Making the invisible visible. Salzburg AG endeavours to promote artistic exploration of the topic of ‘energy’. The Salzburg AG Art Prize for students of the Mozarteum University Salzburg is intended to honour outstanding projects in the field of visual arts and make a lasting contribution to artistic reflection.

The Mozarteum University Salzburg mourns the loss of its former Deputy Chairman of the University Council, Prof. Heinrich Magometschnigg.

The run up to Christmas is packed with social events and this pre-Christmas networking evening, organised by the Mozarteum University Alumni Network and the University of Salzburg Alumni Club, saw alumnae and alumni from both universities gather at the Berchtoldvilla for a book presentation.

Following our cultural evening at the Austrian Embassy, at which we - together with the University of Salzburg - launched our Alumni Chapter Berlin, we warmly invite our alumnae and alumni to attend an informal networking event in October. W. A. Mozart's composition Adagio in F minor (KV 594) for an organ work in a clock becomes a synesthetic experience in the project Shift, materially visible, audible and tangible. The result was presented in a textile-acoustic concert on July 18.

‘Reflections’ is a project that pursues an egalitarian approach to the development and exploration of the arts: works by female composers from earlier centuries that have been forgotten or overlooked, rarely heard or never heard in this country are reflected in the diverse musical languages of today's musicians.
