MEGA:STAGE salzburg is a project of the Applied Theatre - artistic theatre practice & society programme, which illuminates the festival city of Salzburg from a new perspective and gives a new dimension to one of the original ideas of the festival, that of the "city as stage".

The performance of Vincenzo Bellini's opera I Capuleti e i Montecchi delivered a powerful reinterpretation of the masterpiece. Directed by Alexander von Pfeil, the production centred on the relentless feud between two rival clans and the profound despair of its victims. This staging transcended specific eras, placing the story in a universal, timeless setting that brought Bellini's dark vision of love and war to the stage with harrowing clarity.

His ‘unconditional devotion and love’ for music, as his colleague Howard Arman aptly put it, will always be remembered and continue to inspire the Mozarteum University. Laurence Traiger passed away on 18 October 2024 at the age of 68.

 "extra-intro" is a participatory project in the genre of applied theatre, where the main character is our experience of being among others.

Coaching and support program of trans- and interdisciplinary projects of art students on the topics of art, sustainability & socio-ecological transformation

The project includes four focal scientific considerations of university vocal training or the underlying vocal pedagogical frameworks.

And the winner is... The university's internal Research Competition Mozarteum (RCM) took place for the 6th time in 2024 and has established itself as a fixed part of the university's annual schedule. On December 3, the best submissions were honored at the Award Ceremony with the involvement of the international RCM jury.

A new research project at the Department of Music Education Innsbruck deals with virtual rehearsals and music making in digital and virtual space, which require communication in real time. The project investigates the use of digital tools in the cultural field, especially to support choirs.

The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize, launched at the Mozarteum University in 2019, has produced six winners! In the spirit of interdisciplinarity and inclusion, the selection process was open to all students of the Mozarteum University for the first time. The outstanding winner of the evening is the soprano Veronika Loy.
