Students of the sculpture class of the Department of Fine Arts & Design take a contemporary look at objects from the collection in a co-operation with the Salzburg Museum on the occasion of the anniversary "100 Years of the Folklore Museum in the Monatsschlössl".

More than 330 years after the premiere of the only complete opera by Henry Purcell, the French composer Henry Fourès composes a musical setting for Dido and Aeneas and calls it Elissa. A conversation with Rector Elisabeth Gutjahr, who wrote the libretto for it.

With the call "Out of the box", the city of Salzburg launched a competition of innovative ideas for the districts of Riedenburg and Maxglan. With "We swarm for the beehive" by Agnes Scherer and "burgglan" by Erik Hable, two of six awards went to members of the Mozarteum University.

Students from all majors can apply for the 14th Sustainability Challenge by September 25th. The Sustainability Challenge is an interdisciplinary elective course with a focus on sustainability, SDGs & climate protection. On June 23, the touch-down event of the Sustainability Challenge took place at WU Vienna, where Mozarteum students Eva-Maria Sallinger and Lena-Maria Schuster presented their annual project. The Sustainability Challenge recently won the international "SDG Education Programme of the Year".

At the beginning of 2025, Florentine Klepper and Kai Röhrig's opera class at the Mozarteum University will bring Christian Jost's ‘Dichterliebe’ to the stage. The two set designers Carla Schwering and Yvonne Schäfer talk about the ideas and realisation of their visions for the stage design.

Memorizing music plays an important role for instrumentalists and has been little researched to date. Elisabeth Eder took on this topic in her dissertation and was able to identify or categorize 100 learning strategies and show aspects that support memorization.
