We look with horror at the latest developments in Hungary's cultural and educational landscape: a government-appointed board of trustees has taken over the governing powers of the Budapest University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE) and abolished the university's autonomy.

The University Mozarteum lives a culture of sustainability and is guided by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Students from all majors can apply for the 14th Sustainability Challenge by September 25th. The Sustainability Challenge is an interdisciplinary elective course with a focus on sustainability, SDGs & climate protection. Students at the Mozarteum University Salzburg can choose from two projects that are carried out with external partner organizations.

After a break due to corona, the Department of Fine Arts and Design is finally opening its workshops and studios again: from April 6 to 8, interested parties will have the opportunity to gain insights into the diverse work of young artists and to try their hand at numerous workshops. On June 23, the touch-down event of the Sustainability Challenge took place at WU Vienna, where Mozarteum students Eva-Maria Sallinger and Lena-Maria Schuster presented their annual project. The Sustainability Challenge recently won the international "SDG Education Programme of the Year".

The ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) was founded in 1994 and is currently made up of over 80 universities in around 20 countries. The aim of the university network is to promote research and teaching activities between the member universities in Europe and Southeast Asia (in Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam).

In a conversation lasting just under an hour, the students told how their engagements came about and why the Salzburg Festival can be an important stage for the future.
