Organisation … Home About us Organisation Director of Studies & Bologna Process Director of Studies & Bologna Process © Universität Mozarteum Skip page navigation Overview Responsibilities Bologna process People Return to slider start The Director of Studies is responsible for all matters that may affect students during their studies, such as the recognition of examinations taken at external institutions (e.g. through the Erasmus programme), nostrifications and bringing forward (final) examinations. The Bologna Process is a reform process in the European higher education system. Contact: studiendirektor@moz.ac.at Director of Studies The Director of Studies' responsibilities include: Accreditation of examinations taken at other institutions before or during studies at the Mozarteum (e.g. when participating in study abroad programmes such as Erasmus) Nostrifications Reduction of study time (early examinations) Leave of absence from studies Cancellation of deficient examinations and annulment of assessments Advice on special questions of university law  Issue of certificates at the end of studies Awarding of academic degrees; graduation ceremonies Bologna process The core objective of the Bologna Declaration, signed by 29 European states in 1999, was to create a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) within ten years, in which the mobility of students, teachers and researchers as well as academic staff is possible within the framework of quality-assured, transparent and comparable study programmes, with academic achievements being mutually recognised.  The EHEA has now expanded to include 49 European countries and the European Commission, although the representations of Russia and Belarus were suspended in April 2022 due to the armed conflicts in Ukraine. Cornerstones of the European Higher Education Area - Bologna Process include: a system of easily understandable and comparable degrees a three-tier study system (Bachelor, Master, Doctor/PhD) European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System - ECTS promotion of the mobility of students, teachers and researchers Lifelong learning Promotion of European cooperation in quality assurance European dimension of higher education Social dimension and inclusion in higher education Employability Fundamental values for the free and autonomous exercise of academic science and research People Skip slider Mario Kostal Mario Kostal Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Rectorate Director of Studies Isabel Gabbe Isabel Gabbe Univ.-Prof. of Piano and Piano Pedagogy Senate Department Head Faculty Katrin Rudek Katrin Rudek Department management Service department management Sabine Pfaffinger Sabine Pfaffinger Consultant Director of Studies Deputy service department management Employee BR 2 Nina Leeb Nina Leeb Employee Julia Sejkora Julia Sejkora concert subject degrees Employee Christina Santner Christina Santner Employee Sylvia Waschl Sylvia Waschl IGP/Orff degrees Employee Magdalena Weindl Magdalena Weindl Employee Jump to slider start
