After four years of war, during which it had been possible to maintain the teaching activities of the young conservatory, the Mozarteum was on the brink of extinction.

Numerous internationally renowned teachers, including Nicolaus Harnoncourt and Dennis Russell Davies, have trained today's successful orchestra and opera conductors at the Department of Conducting, Choir & Wind Conducting at the Mozarteum University.
