In many areas of life, creativity is considered an invaluable asset, linked to aspects such as imagination, ingenuity and innovation. Creative phenomena are complex processes in which multiple influences and processes interact. To accentuate specifics relevant to creativity, the idea of oscillation is developed here: Dynamics of oscillating, interacting and resonating are understood as oscillating processes that determine and fuel creativity. Of particular interest is the fanning out of creative play in musical contexts.
What dynamics characterize the genesis of new, original ways of dealing with sound material in motivational, aesthetic or cultural terms? What possibilities do artistic-pedagogical approaches offer to initiate creative thinking and acting? The publication deepens a variety of relevant findings and sets impulses for a further examination of creative phenomena: both music-specific and cross-domain.
