Mandana Farsani

Mandana Farsani has worked since 2015 with children and young people who have experienced displacement and migration. Since 2022, she has taught at the Department of Elementary Music and Dance Education at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, focusing on artistic-pedagogical work in inclusive contexts.
After studying classical music at Islamic Azad University in Tehran, specialising in viola and tombak, Mandana Farsani worked from 2001 to 2008 as a teacher at private schools and music institutes in Iran. She subsequently moved to Salzburg, where she completed postgraduate studies and later earned a master’s degree in elementary music and movement education at the Orff Institute of the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
Since 2015, Farsani has worked extensively with children and young people with experiences of displacement and migration. Since 2018, she has directed the ensemble “Nava,” made up of children and young people with migrant backgrounds. Since 2022, she has taught at the Department of Elementary Music and Dance Education, where she introduces students to artistic-pedagogical work in inclusive contexts, particularly in the area of children with and without refugee experience. Since 2025, she has also taught Elementary Music-Making Orff-Schulwerk for bachelor’s and master’s students.
