Anna Laura Wieczorek

Assistant Professor of Applied Dance StudiesDepartment of Elemental Music & Dance Education – Orff Institute

Anna Wieczorek has been Assistant Professor of Applied Dance Studies at the Department of Elementary Music and Dance Education – Orff Institute of the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2025. Her work combines dance studies, dramaturgy and critical historiography, with a particular focus on the relationship between theory and practice, questions of accessibility, and post- and decolonial perspectives on dance history.

She was also a member of the DFG research project ‘Gestures of Dance – Dance as Gesture’ (University of Hamburg, with Gabriele Klein/Elisabeth Leopold) and the FWF research project ‘Traversing the Contemporary’ (University of Salzburg, with Claudia Jeschke/Sandra Chatterjee). 

Since 2022, she has been deputy chair of the Society for Dance Research.
