Anna Laura Wieczorek
Anna Wieczorek was appointed assistant professor of applied dance studies at the Department of Elementary Music and Dance Education – Orff Institute in 2025. From 2020 to 2025, she worked as a research assistant specialising in dance at the Institute for Media, Theatre and Popular Culture at the University of Hildesheim. After studying dramaturgy in Munich, she earned her doctorate with her dissertation ‘Historical (Re)Formulations’ on a post/decolonial perspective on dance historiography (University of Salzburg, published in the Media and Theatre series by OLMS-Verlag / University Press Hildesheim, open access).
She was also a member of the DFG research project ‘Gestures of Dance – Dance as Gesture’ (University of Hamburg, with Gabriele Klein/Elisabeth Leopold) and the FWF research project ‘Traversing the Contemporary’ (University of Salzburg, with Claudia Jeschke/Sandra Chatterjee).
Since 2022, she has been deputy chair of the Society for Dance Research.
