Marco Sala is principal bass clarinetist of the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum, clarinetist of the NAMES ensemble and principal clarinetist of the Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi. He received his master's degree in clarinet with Carlo Dell'Acqua at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Como and he won the Franz Terraneo Prize of the city of Como for the best graduation of the academic year 2008/09. He completed his master's and postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum University. His special interests are new music and the low instruments of the clarinet family.
Sein spezielles Interesse für Neue Musik und für die tiefen Instrumente der Klarinettenfamilie (Bassklarinette, Bassetthorn und Kontrabassklarinette) führte ihn zu Soloauftritten in Österreich, Italien, Deutschland, in der Schweiz, in Kroatien, in Ungarn und Südkorea sowie zu CD-Aufnahmen für die Labels VDE-Gallo Records, Brilliant Classics und Deutsche Grammophon.
Marco Sala ist Solo-Bassklarinettist der Bläserphilharmonie Salzburg, Klarinettist des New Art and Music Ensemble Salzburg (NAMES) und Soloklarinettist des Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi.
