Kai Bachmann
Kai Bachmann is a composer and musicologist at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. His work combines artistic practice and scholarly research, with a particular focus on music theory, composition, and interdisciplinary approaches to music research. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Mozarteum University and a member of the Vice Rectorate for Research and Development.
IKai Bachmann (b. 1965 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein) moved with his family to Mexico at the age of ten, where he received his early musical education through private lessons and later at the State Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. In 1984, he obtained both the Certificado de Bachillerato and the German Abitur at the German School Alexander von Humboldt.
In 1990, he completed his diploma in composition at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with distinction. He also studied musicology and Spanish at the University of Salzburg, where he received his doctorate in musicology in 1999.
He subsequently worked at the Richter Herf Institute for fundamental research in music at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, as well as in the Research Network on Music and Human Experience. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and a member of the Vice Rectorate for Research and Development.
