Elena Ten
Elena Ten is a pianist and répétiteur with extensive international experience in higher music education, working across conducting, instrumental training, and chamber music. She has taught at the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 2015.
Elena Ten was born in Moscow and received her early musical training at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. From 1996 to 2003, she studied piano performance with Naum Starkman at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, graduating with honours in 2001 before completing two years of postgraduate study. She has won prizes at piano competitions in Italy, Sweden, and Russia.
From 2004 to 2015, she worked as a répétiteur at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the Departments of Wind Instruments and Conducting, and from 2010 to 2015 also at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
Since 2015, she has been a répétiteur at the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University Salzburg, working with distinguished musicians including Igor Petruschevsky (violin), Michaela Girardi (violin), Johannes Hinterholzer (horn), Barnabás Kelemen (violin), Wally Hase (flute), Philippe Bernold (flute), Matthieu Gauci-Ancelin (flute), and Orfeo Mandozzi (cello).
Since 2015, Elena Ten has also been a répétiteur at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she works in the Department of Conducting and with trombone students. Since 2017, she has taught piano and accompaniment at the Gustav Mahler Private University in Klagenfurt. In addition to her teaching, she performs regularly in chamber music settings with piano duo, string, and wind ensembles.
