Stefan Fuchs is a music theorist, educator and harpsichordist whose work brings together pedagogy, performance and early music practice. Alongside his teaching in music theory and aural training, he is active as a continuo player and ensemble musician, with a particular focus on vocal and instrumental repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries.

Stefan Fuchs (b. 1990 in Bamberg) received lessons in piano, violin, harpsichord and voice during his school years at the musisches E.T.A. Hoffmann-Gymnasium, where he was also active in numerous ensembles (choir, orchestra and chamber music). From 2010 to 2019, he studied Music Education with a focus on choral conducting, music theory and aural training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, and also completed a bachelor’s degree in piano pedagogy.

From 2019 to 2022, he taught music theory and aural training at music academies in Munich, Hanover and Salzburg, as well as at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, while also working as a piano teacher. In 2022, he took up a position as Senior Lecturer in music theory and aural training at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

As a harpsichordist, he is a member of the Pleiades ensemble, which is dedicated to the performance of vocal and instrumental music of the 16th and 17th centuries.
