Wolfgang Gaisböck is considered one of the leading Baroque trumpeters worldwide and is a specialist in J. S. Bach's Second Brandenburg Concerto and cantatas. He is a co-founder of the Schwanthaler Trompeten Consort, has been a member of Camerata Salzburg since 1996 and has performed as a soloist with Concentus Musicus Wien, Il Giardino Armonico, Concerto Köln and The Bach Ensemble, among others. Concerts with these ensembles have taken him to the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Teatro Municipale Valli in Italy, Finland, Japan and Slovenia, and to the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Proms. He has taught historical trumpet at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and modern trumpet at the Upper Austrian Music School since 2005. He has taught natural trumpet at the Mozarteum University since 2013.
